Description

A simple and delicious recipe for classic chocolate chip cookies that are soft on the inside and slightly crispy on the edges.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup (165g) packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups (281g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups (340g) chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

  • For softer cookies, bake for the shorter time range.
  • You can use a mix of chocolate chips and nuts for added texture.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
