- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh rosemary
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh thyme
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh sage
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 lemon, halved
- 1 onion, quartered
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Mix butter, rosemary, thyme, sage, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Pat turkey dry with paper towels.
- Gently loosen turkey skin and rub herb butter underneath.
- Stuff turkey cavity with lemon and onion.
- Place turkey breast-side up on a roasting rack.
- Roast for 3 to 3.5 hours or until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Let turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer for accurate doneness.
- Baste turkey with pan juices every hour.
- Cover with foil if turkey browns too quickly.
