Description
This Salted Caramel Banana Pudding is a delicious twist on a classic dessert, combining layers of creamy banana pudding, vanilla wafers, fresh bananas, and a rich salted caramel sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup salted caramel sauce, plus more for drizzling
- 1 (5.1 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix
- 2 cups cold milk
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 4 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 (11 oz) box vanilla wafers
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until smooth. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to thicken.
- In another bowl, beat the heavy cream and powdered sugar together until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the pudding mixture until well combined.
- In a large trifle dish or individual glasses, start layering the dessert. Begin with a layer of vanilla wafers at the bottom.
- Next, add a layer of sliced bananas, followed by a layer of the pudding mixture. Drizzle some salted caramel sauce over the pudding layer.
- Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of pudding on top.
- Drizzle more salted caramel sauce over the top and sprinkle with sea salt.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
- For best results, use ripe bananas, but not overripe.
- You can make the salted caramel sauce ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator.
