This Salted Caramel Banana Pudding is a delicious twist on a classic dessert, combining layers of creamy banana pudding, vanilla wafers, fresh bananas, and a rich salted caramel sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce, plus more for drizzling
  • 1 (5.1 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 (11 oz) box vanilla wafers
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until smooth. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to thicken.
  2. In another bowl, beat the heavy cream and powdered sugar together until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the pudding mixture until well combined.
  3. In a large trifle dish or individual glasses, start layering the dessert. Begin with a layer of vanilla wafers at the bottom.
  4. Next, add a layer of sliced bananas, followed by a layer of the pudding mixture. Drizzle some salted caramel sauce over the pudding layer.
  5. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of pudding on top.
  6. Drizzle more salted caramel sauce over the top and sprinkle with sea salt.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For best results, use ripe bananas, but not overripe.
  • You can make the salted caramel sauce ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator.
