Description

A simple sandwich bread recipe for homemade bread.


Ingredients

  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add salt, vegetable oil, and flour. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf.
  7. Place the loaf in a greased bread pan. Cover and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  9. Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
