  • Yield: 24 sausage cheese balls 1x

Description

These sausage cheese balls are the perfect savory snack or appetizer, combining the flavors of sausage and cheese in a bite-sized treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound sausage (use your favorite breakfast sausage)
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sausage, cheddar cheese, flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Mix until well combined. If the mixture is too dry, add the milk a little at a time until it holds together.
  4. Using your hands, shape the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  5. Place the sausage balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • These sausage cheese balls can be made ahead of time and frozen for later use. Just bake them from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
  • Feel free to customize the cheese by using a blend of cheddar and mozzarella for a different flavor.
  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or marinara.
