Description

A classic slow cooker dish featuring corned beef and cabbage.


Ingredients

  • 34 pounds corned beef brisket
  • 1 medium onion, quartered
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 medium carrots, chopped
  • 1 small head of cabbage, cut into wedges
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 1 tablespoon black peppercorns
  • 2 bay leaves

Instructions

  1. Place the corned beef in the slow cooker.
  2. Add the onion, garlic, and carrots around the beef.
  3. In a bowl, mix beef broth, mustard, peppercorns, and bay leaves. Pour over the beef.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours.
  5. In the last hour, add the cabbage wedges on top.
  6. Once done, remove the beef and let it rest before slicing.
  7. Serve with vegetables and broth.
