Description
Juicy smash burgers topped with a creamy special sauce that elevates this classic dish to new heights. Perfect for your next cookout or weeknight dinner!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
- 4 burger buns
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 1/2 cup dill pickles, sliced
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir until well combined to make the special sauce.
- Preheat a cast-iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Divide the ground beef into four equal portions. Roll each portion into a loose ball.
- Once the skillet is hot, place the beef balls in the skillet and immediately smash them down with a spatula to form patties, about 1/2 inch thick. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cook for about 2-3 minutes until a crust forms on the bottom, then flip the burgers. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to desired doneness.
- Toast the burger buns on the skillet for about 1 minute until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading a generous amount of the special sauce on the bottom bun, adding the smashed burger patty, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your Smash Burger with Special Sauce!
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add cheese slices on top of the patties during the last minute of cooking.
- Feel free to customize toppings based on your preference – avocado, bacon, or grilled onions are great additions.
