Ingredients

  • 2 cups sourdough starter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Mix sourdough starter, milk, sugar, melted butter, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Add flour gradually, mixing until dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth.
  4. Let it rise for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
  6. Spread melted butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar on top.
  7. Add nuts if desired.
  8. Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
  9. Place rolls in a greased baking dish.
  10. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  11. In the morning, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  12. Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes.

Notes

  • Use active sourdough starter for best results.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container.
