Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup raisins (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add sourdough starter, milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla. Mix until combined.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
  6. Spread softened butter on the dough.
  7. Sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar evenly over the butter.
  8. Add raisins if desired.
  9. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into rolls.
  10. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another hour.
  11. Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • For a sweeter roll, increase the sugar.
  • Allow the rolls to cool before icing if desired.
