- 1 spaghetti squash
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- to taste salt
- to taste black pepper
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- for garnish fresh basil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place the spaghetti squash halves cut-side down on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Roast in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the flesh is tender and can be easily shredded with a fork.
- While the squash is roasting, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat until warmed through.
- Once the squash is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Use a fork to scrape the flesh of the squash into spaghetti-like strands.
- Divide the spaghetti squash into bowls, top with marinara sauce, and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
Notes
- You can add cooked meatballs or sautéed vegetables to the marinara for added flavor and nutrition.
- Leftover spaghetti squash can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
