A delightful cake perfect for spring birthday celebrations.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 2 cups whipped cream
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
- Fold in sliced strawberries.
- Pour the batter into prepared pans and smooth the tops.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire racks to cool completely.
- Once cooled, spread whipped cream between the layers and on top of the cake.
Notes
- Decorate with additional strawberries if desired.
- Can substitute other fruits for a different flavor.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
