A festive cake for St. Patrick’s Day.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup green food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
- Mix in buttermilk, vanilla, and green food coloring.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
- Pour batter into prepared pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cakes cool before frosting.
Notes
- Use a cream cheese frosting for added flavor.
- Decorate with shamrock sprinkles.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
