Instructions

  1. Rinse the corned beef under cold water.
  2. Place the beef in a large pot with peppercorns, mustard seeds, and water.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2.5 to 3 hours.
  4. Add potatoes and carrots to the pot.
  5. Simmer for an additional 20 minutes.
  6. Add cabbage and cook for another 15 minutes.
  7. Remove meat and vegetables, slice the beef, and serve.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add garlic and bay leaves to the pot.
  • Serve with mustard or a creamy horseradish sauce.
