Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of pickling spice
  • 4 carrots, chopped
  • 4 potatoes, quartered
  • 1 head of cabbage, cut into wedges
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the corned beef in a pot.
  2. Add water and pickling spice.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours.
  4. Add carrots and potatoes; cook for another 30 minutes.
  5. Add cabbage and cook for an additional 15 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

  • Serve with mustard or horseradish.
