- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and shredded coconut if using.
- Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
- For a fun Star Wars twist, shape the cookies into small Wookiee heads before baking.
