Ingredients

  • 2 beef filet mignon steaks (68 oz each)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup brandy or cognac
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the steaks with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté mushrooms and garlic until soft.
  5. Add brandy and let it simmer for 1 minute.
  6. Stir in heavy cream, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until slightly thickened.
  7. Return the steaks to the skillet and coat with the sauce.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
