These sticky Asian glazed chicken wings are packed with flavor and perfect for any gathering or as a delicious weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Mix well.
- Add the chicken wings to the marinade and toss to coat. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight in the refrigerator.
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the rack.
- Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, turning once halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- While the wings are baking, prepare the glaze. In a small saucepan, bring the marinade to a simmer over medium heat.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth. Slowly pour into the simmering marinade, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
- Once the wings are done, remove them from the oven and toss them in the thickened glaze until well coated.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispy wings, you can broil them for an additional 2-3 minutes after baking.
- Feel free to adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey according to your taste.
- You can also use wingettes or drumsticks if preferred.
