  • Author: ushinzomr
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Description

A delightful and refreshing cake made with layers of fluffy cake, creamy whipped topping, and sweet strawberry jello.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 package (3 oz) strawberry jello
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely.
  4. In a separate bowl, dissolve the strawberry jello in boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved.
  5. Once the cake has cooled, poke holes all over the top using a fork. Pour the jello mixture over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  6. In a medium bowl, combine the whipped topping and powdered sugar. Mix until smooth.
  7. Spread the whipped topping mixture over the jello-covered cake.
  8. Top with sliced fresh strawberries. Chill until ready to serve.

Notes

  • For a richer strawberry flavor, add more fresh strawberries on top.
  • You can substitute the white cake mix with a strawberry cake mix for added flavor.
