Description
A delightful and refreshing cake made with layers of fluffy cake, creamy whipped topping, and sweet strawberry jello.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box white cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 package (3 oz) strawberry jello
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
- 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely.
- In a separate bowl, dissolve the strawberry jello in boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved.
- Once the cake has cooled, poke holes all over the top using a fork. Pour the jello mixture over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- In a medium bowl, combine the whipped topping and powdered sugar. Mix until smooth.
- Spread the whipped topping mixture over the jello-covered cake.
- Top with sliced fresh strawberries. Chill until ready to serve.
Notes
- For a richer strawberry flavor, add more fresh strawberries on top.
- You can substitute the white cake mix with a strawberry cake mix for added flavor.
