- 1 box vanilla cake mix
- Ingredients needed for cake mix (usually eggs, water, and oil)
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup strawberry jello powder
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 cup whipped cream or whipped topping
- Fresh strawberries for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven according to the cake mix package instructions.
- Prepare the vanilla cake mix according to the package instructions and bake in a 9×13 inch cake pan.
- Once the cake is done, let it cool for about 10 minutes. Using a fork, poke holes all over the top of the cake.
- In a bowl, combine the strawberry jello powder with the boiling water. Stir until the jello is fully dissolved.
- Add the cold water to the jello mixture and stir to combine.
- Pour the jello mixture over the poked cake, making sure it fills the holes.
- Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours to allow the jello to set.
- Once set, spread the whipped cream over the top of the cake.
- Garnish with fresh strawberries on top before serving.
