- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking pan.
- Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Add cold butter and mix until crumbly.
- Stir in milk to form a soft dough.
- Spread dough in the pan and bake for 20 minutes.
- Cool the cake and slice into layers.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
- Layer cake, whipped cream, and strawberries. Repeat.
- Top with more strawberries and serve chilled.
Notes
- Use ripe strawberries for the best flavor.
- Chill the bowl and beaters before whipping cream.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
