A refreshing and colorful dessert perfect for summer gatherings, this berry trifle layers creamy vanilla pudding, fresh berries, and light sponge cake for a delightful treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups vanilla pudding (prepared)
  • 1 pound strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 pound blueberries
  • 1 pound raspberries
  • 1 pound angel food cake, cut into cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  2. In a trifle dish or large glass bowl, layer half of the angel food cake cubes at the bottom.
  3. Spread half of the prepared vanilla pudding over the cake layer.
  4. Add a layer of mixed berries (half of the strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries) on top of the pudding.
  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining cake, pudding, and berries.
  6. Top with the whipped cream mixture, spreading it evenly over the top.
  7. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

  • You can use any combination of berries based on your preference and availability.
  • To make this trifle ahead of time, prepare the layers and assemble it the day before serving.
