Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup jam of your choice (strawberry, raspberry, etc.)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk and melted butter.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick.
  5. Cut out circles using a cookie cutter or glass, about 3 inches in diameter.
  6. Place a teaspoon of jam in the center of each circle.
  7. Fold the dough over the jam and pinch the edges to seal tightly.
  8. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully drop the dumplings into the boiling water.
  9. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until the dumplings float to the top.
  10. Remove the dumplings with a slotted spoon and let drain on a paper towel.
  11. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar or with extra jam on the side.
