A classic Swiss cheese fondue recipe for a rich and creamy cheese experience.
Ingredients

- 200g Gruyère cheese
- 200g Emmental cheese
- 1 clove garlic
- 300ml dry white wine
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon kirsch (cherry brandy)
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Freshly grated nutmeg
- French bread, cut into cubes
Instructions
- Rub the inside of a fondue pot with garlic.
- In a separate pot, heat the wine and lemon juice over medium heat.
- Gradually add the grated cheeses, stirring until melted.
- Mix cornstarch with kirsch, then add to the cheese mixture.
- Continue stirring until smooth and bubbly.
- Season with pepper and nutmeg.
- Serve with bread cubes for dipping.
Notes
- Use a good quality dry white wine.
- Keep the fondue pot over low heat while serving.
- Feel free to add other dippables like vegetables or cured meats.
