  • 1/4 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 1 package (7 oz) ladyfingers
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cocoa powder, for dusting
  • Dark chocolate shavings, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a shallow bowl, combine the brewed espresso and coffee liqueur. Set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer, beat until soft peaks form.
  3. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
  4. In serving cups, layer the dipped ladyfingers at the bottom, followed by a layer of the mascarpone mixture. Repeat the layers until the cups are full.
  5. Finish with a layer of the mascarpone mixture on top.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Before serving, dust the tops with cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate shavings if desired.

  • For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the coffee liqueur.
