Description
Classic Tollhouse chocolate chip cookies that are soft and chewy.
Ingredients

- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, mix flour and baking soda, set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt.
- Add the vanilla extract and eggs, mixing until smooth.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool on the baking sheets for 2 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
- For chewier cookies, slightly underbake.
- Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
