Ingredients

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups cranberry sauce
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 2 cups green beans
- 1 cup gravy
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and rinsing it.
- In a skillet, melt butter and sauté onion and celery until soft.
- Add bread crumbs, parsley, salt, and pepper to the mixture.
- Stuff the turkey with the bread mixture.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover it.
- Roast the turkey for about 3 hours, basting occasionally.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
- Serve with cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, green beans, and gravy.
Notes
- You can prepare stuffing the day before.
- Reserve turkey drippings for gravy.
- Adjust cooking time based on turkey size.
