A delightful cake perfect for Valentine’s Day celebrations.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp heavy cream
- Red food coloring
- Heart-shaped sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
- Divide batter between the pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes. Check with a toothpick.
- Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
- In a bowl, beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and heavy cream to make frosting.
- Add red food coloring to achieve desired color.
- Once cakes are cool, frost the top of one cake, place the second on top, and frost the top and sides.
- Decorate with heart-shaped sprinkles.
Notes
- Store the cake in an airtight container.
- Use different colors for decoration if desired.
- Adjust sweetness by adding or reducing sugar in frosting.
