Vanilla Pudding with Fruit: 5 Steps to Pure Delight

  • Author: ushinzomr
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A creamy, homemade vanilla pudding topped with fresh fruit for a delightful dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup assorted fresh fruit

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt until smooth.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat. Cook the mixture, stirring constantly, until it begins to thicken and comes to a gentle boil.
  3. Once boiling, continue to cook for an additional 1-2 minutes while stirring.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and butter until fully melted and incorporated.
  5. Pour the pudding into serving dishes or a large bowl. Cover with plastic wrap, pressing it directly onto the surface of the pudding to prevent a skin from forming.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until set.
  7. Serve the vanilla pudding topped with fresh fruit.

Notes

  • You can use any combination of fresh fruit based on your preference.
  • For a richer flavor, consider using whole vanilla beans instead of extract.
