Description

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup raisins (optional)

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk and dissolve the yeast in it.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add melted butter, eggs, and vanilla to the flour mixture.
  4. Pour in the yeast mixture and stir until combined.
  5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it. Let it rise for 1 hour.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf or braid.
  9. Let it rise again for 30 minutes on a baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • Can add colored eggs for decoration.
  • Store in an airtight container for freshness.
  • Best served warm or toasted.
